Our Bedroll and Breakfast overnight trail rides are an excellent opportunity to “dip your toe” into wilderness camping. Our cozy, historic cabin allows us to provide camping with a touch of class. We will meet in the afternoon at our trailhead and ride off away from the hectic rush of civilization. Riding this time of day will increase your chances of spotting wildlife on the way to your sumptuous meal. After dinner, sit around the fire and listen to the night sounds of the mountains, or cuddle up in a tipi or wall tent and soak up the stillness. In the morning, we will serve up our famous breakfast before we saddle up to head back.

Multi-Day Overnight Out of Our Craig Cabin Camp

Sometimes, a little is not enough. This trip combines the splendor of the Wyoming wilderness with the convenience and comfort of a permanent, near-luxurious camp. Stay for one or more nights and take advantage of our unique, historical cabin surrounded by tipis and wall tents. Bring a group of relatives, friends, or coworkers, or join another party and form lifelong friendships! Fill your days with activities such as horseback riding, photography, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. We serve delectable prepared meals and make every effort to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This excursion allows you to enjoy lunch at the historic cabin, settle in, and then ride again in the afternoon.

If an overnight stay isn’t your speed, we offer half-day and full-day horseback ride trips to our Jack Creek Camp. Enjoy a morning of riding and sightseeing before you stop off and enjoy lunch at the historic Craig Cabin. With plenty of room to stretch your legs and explore, our base camp is the perfect spot to take in the sights and sounds of the Gros Ventre wilderness before heading back to Little Jennie Ranch headquarters.

Frequently Asked Questions About Overnight Trips


We offer overnight horseback trips into our historic backcountry camp, but not traditional pack trips. Here’s the difference: On a pack trip, you break down and set up camp in a new location every day. On our overnight trips, you ride into our established Craig Cabin Camp, settle in for one night or several, and use it as your base to explore the Gros Ventre wilderness. If you’re looking for that authentic backcountry experience with comfortable accommodations and great food, this is it.


Yes. You’re sleeping in wall tents and tipis with real beds at our permanent camp, eating ranch-raised beef and hearty meals, and enjoying a backcountry experience without roughing it too much. Our historic Craig Cabin anchors the camp and is listed on the National Historic Registry.


We’re located in Bondurant, Wyoming—less than an hour (about 45 minutes) from Jackson Hole. Close enough for easy access, far enough to feel like a different world.


Bedroll & Breakfast is our one-night trip. You arrive in the afternoon, ride into camp, enjoy dinner, spend the night in a tipi or wall tent, have breakfast, and ride back out the next morning. It’s perfect if you’re spending a week in Jackson and want one authentic backcountry night.

Basecamp Experience is our multi-day stay (ideally 3-4 nights). You settle into the Craig Cabin Camp and spend your days however you want—riding different trails, fishing, photographing wildlife, hiking, or relaxing. You’ll have lunch at the historic cabin, then head out for afternoon rides or other activities.


Absolutely. We customize every trip to fit your group, children must be 8+ to ride a horse. If someone in your family would rather not ride the full distance into camp, we can arrange vehicle transport.


Both options work. You can book the camp for your own group (family reunion, corporate retreat, friends), or you can join another party if you’re a smaller group. Call us to discuss what works best for you.


Horseback riding, fishing, wildlife viewing (elk, moose, deer are common), photography, hiking, or simply relaxing by the fire. On the Basecamp Experience, you’ll have time for lunch at the cabin, then head out for afternoon rides or activities. Every trip is customizable—tell us what you want to do and we’ll build your days around it.


It’s about 6 miles and takes roughly 3 hours. We match horses to your riding ability and take our time.


You’ll meet us at the trailhead in the afternoon, ride into camp for dinner, spend the night, and ride back out after breakfast the next morning.


All meals (featuring our ranch-raised beef and appropriate accompaniments), experienced guides, horses, overnight accommodations in wall tents and tipis at our historic Craig Cabin Camp, and a fully customizable itinerary. We handle everything—you just show up ready to ride.


No. We provide experienced, well-trained horses matched to each rider’s ability.


Bring: Comfortable layers appropriate for the season, a well-fitting cowboy hat or ball cap, sunglasses, sturdy shoes without platforms, personal items.

Leave behind: Platform shoes, ill-fitting hats (they’ll blow off on the ride), large backpacks, and anything you don’t want to carry on horseback.


Yes, we offer round-trip transportation from Jackson Hole to our trailhead. $250 per vehicle


We ride in all weather—this is Wyoming backcountry. We’ll make sure you’re prepared and comfortable. If conditions are truly unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule.


Yes. Fishing is one of the activities available on our multi-day Basecamp Experience trips.
